When it comes to Valentine’s Day, I like to dream outside the {mass produced} box. It’s not always feasible to craft your own valentines because we all live such busy lives, but I always aspire to do so. Assuming you have some time on your hands, it’s really fun to create your own Valentine’s Day cards… especially if you make them with your kids. Here’s a bunch of creative ideas for classroom valentines as well as a few special one-of-a-kind ideas for someone special. Get ready to hop aboard the Creative Valentine Express!
You can find glowsticks at stores such as Family Dollar (I got a 5 pack for $1). Chinaberry Suite created these fantastic Star Wars and Heart Wand glow stick Valentines, head over to her site for the how-to!
My love for Swedish Fish led me to this clever idea, shared by Everything in Focus. Swedish Fish Valentines are the bomb diggity in my book.
Last year, I shared tutorials for Folding Heart Photo Valentines as well as Year’s Worth of Dates in a Box. The photo valentines are perfect for grandparents, and the date nights are especially great for busy parents who could use a few fresh date ideas!
YES: Love bug Valentines perfect for both boys and girls! I’m crushing on these bug themed valentines by Dandee Designs; modern and classy yet totally age appropriate.
Dandee Designs also shared her Friendship Bracelet and Bouncy Ball Valentines. Looks like I found a new blog to love.
Photo valentines never looked so cute as these homemade lollipop holders by Landee See, Landee Do.
Superhero Cape Valentines using Tootsie Pops by A Little Bit Funky. A-MAH-ZING!
These posters by Flutterbye Notes are more of an investment, but they would make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift for the one you love. It’s a poster created with original artwork using your actual thumbprints. So sweet.
We’ll end with this super creative idea using shadows to convey a message of love. I’m pretty sure it involves math and someone with a lot of patience, but for those of you whom fit the bill then harness the power of the sun and shine some love out there!

Which one was your favorite? I’m crushing on them all, but I’m especially in love with the Superhero Capes and Star Wars Glowsticks!

ha! I was JUST on pinterest looking for ideas.
The shadow is adorable.
I love the shadow idea, too… I’m not sure I have the patience to reenact it, though! Glad I saved some Pinterest time for you.
These are all so cute! We already have the Star Wars glowstick valentines printed out for my son to give out! And I had pinned the bug jars, too.
These are SO great! They don’t even look too time consuming (says the naive mom who doesn’t DIY anything!) I love the butterflies, glow sticks, and goldfish valentines. I think I’ll do the Star Wars card for my husband next year
