Remember Charlie? We still haven’t figured out how two other families could have possibly given up this sweet kitty, but we’re so glad they did.
He’s really home now. And I think he knows it.
Charlie had two previous owners and a stint on the streets of Philadelphia, but since his adoption he’s quickly become an important part of our family. He’s a fixture in our lives, always around for a snuggle or kiss. His ‘ragdoll’ personality is a calming influence on the kids, and I’ve found he’s a perfect foot warmer at the end of my bed. My poor husband immediately realized he was allergic to our new family member, but nothing that a few allergy medications couldn’t help fix. That’s how much we love this cat!
One thing we quickly learned was he loves to look out windows and devises gymnastics-worthy maneuvers to get there. In place of a cat tree, I threw a faux sheepskin on top of our bar cart and voila! A stylish, purr-fect perch to watch the world go by… and birds. He loves watching the birds.
Bee thinks this is hilarious.
Another quirk? He has a twitchy tail! While I pour food into his dish, he’ll seem calm but if you watch his tail and it jumps around and twitches happily like a squirrel on caffeine. He’s my little mullet: business in the front and party in the back. Such a laid back, cool cat with a taste for a good meal!
He also refuses to use a scratching post, opting instead for my dining room chairs. Eh, small sacrifice on my part.
Since he spent some time on the streets, he’s grateful for whatever you give. The look he’ll give you when you open up a container of wet cat food would break your heart. His wide eyes look at you as if saying, “For ME? Noooo… can’t be!” Then he’ll dig in like it’s going to disappear at any moment. It tugs at my heartstrings for sure.
I’m not the only one whose heart breaks knowing there are millions more animals without homes. Rachael Ray also feels this pain, and has done something amazing—created the organization ‘Rachael’s Rescue’ to help animals in need. All the proceeds from the Nutrish food line are poured into this organization. To date, they’ve raised over 6 million dollars!
Nutrish Natural Food for Cats is Charlie approved. It’s made with simple, natural ingredients (like what I feed the rest of my family) and real meat is always the #1 ingredient. No by-products, artificial flavors or preservatives, either. Why can’t ALL food be like this?!
It comes as wet or dry, and you don’t have to trek to NYC to get it. It’s available right where you buy groceries, you can check this store locator to be sure. Plus, you don’t have to take Charlie’s word for it. Find special Switch to Nutrish coupons and offers to make the transition easy. And delicious.
Rachael’s a giver, so there’s something else in it for you too: now through May 31st, visit the Purrsonality Sweeps website to ‘like’ the new Nutrish for Cats Facebook page. Doing so will enter you for a chance to win weekly prizes for your kitty, or a grand prize of $1,000 and a supply of Nutrish!
Charlie’s gonna be jealouuuuuus of that winner.
I’m grateful I can feed our little buddy the same way I feed the rest of my family. I’m also grateful there’s brands like Nutrish for Cats to make such a huge a difference in the lives of animals. I’m officially banned from adopting more pets thanks to my hubby’s allergies, but I CAN buy food that supports all of Charlie’s comrades at heart as they wait for their forever homes too.
Ahhhh… is there anything more peaceful than watching a kitty sleep in the sunshine? Do you have a cat that would love the Nutrish food line? Check it out and let me know what you think!
