It may be the unofficial end of summer, but I had one breezy DIY idea to share before we put away the icy pitchers of lemonade for the year– these simple DIY beverage tags.  These drink tags come in handy when entertaining, and would also make a fun hostesses gift as well.  With the holidays coming up, it always pays off to have a few easy party ideas in your pocket or some handmade gifts for all those parties and get-togethers during this busy season!

I first spotted these beverage tags in the Ballard Designs catalog last year, and fell in love with the idea of having tags on hand for various pitchers or bottles of drinks.  But there was a big problem– there’s no way I could paint the words this beautifully:

Thankfully, they only require three things to make them:

  • wooden tags
  • alphabet stickers
  • twine or ribbon

I found the blank wooden tags on Etsy, but you could probably also find them at your local craft store.  The stickers are from Michaels (get them with your 40% off coupon!) and come in so many colors and styles– there’s probably 50 types of colors and letter styles to choose from.  Twine was what I had on hand, again, use what you love.

Put them all together, and what do you have?

Homemade. Beverage. Tags.  BOO-YAH!

Label your pitchers so guests know what they’re drinking.  Especially helpful to keep little hands reaching for the mojitos.

Because you need to tell the difference between the sweet and the unsweet tea, right?

And while it may be PSL season outside (that’s Pumpkin Spice Lattes for you non-hipsters), the beverage in the pitcher happens to be my very favorite rosemary lemonade recipe.  here’s the   Sidenote: will you hate me if I confess I’m not a fan of pumpkin spice lattes?  Now chai lattes are another story… oh, how I miss them now that I’m dairy-free!

Last but not least, here’s part of my CSA farm share last month.  Fresh picked flowers.  They were so beautiful I had to share them with you, I hope they brighten up your day as much as they did mine!

So, I have the homemade beverage tags ready to go– who’s coming over for some mojitos, sweet tea, and lemonade?

Or, should I say who’s coming over for caramel apple cider and chai lattes?  I have a beverage tag for that.  😉

{psssst… if you like it, pin it for later!}
