Quick Trip to St. Michaels, Maryland

Ah, MONDAY.  This Monday marks the beginning of our “dog days of summer.”  We’ve had lots of wonderful things going on around here, but each one took a chunk out of our weekends.  From here on out, we have very little planned so I’m breathing a sigh of relief and am ready to R-E-L-A-X!

Speaking of, I promised a travel linky on Friday but got caught up finishing the last minute details for Noodle’s Curious George 3rd birthday party (monkey cupcakes!  balloons!  pasta salad!  man in the yellow hat cookies!).  So here it is.  If you have any travel related post on your blog from ANY point in time, I hope you’ll link it up here!  Now that I have a bit more free time I want to spend it living vicariously through you and your travels.

Last weekend I sneaked away for  a quick girl’s weekend with two great friends.  We visited St. Michaels, Maryland for a little R&R.  Such a cute town, and the inn where we stayed was amazing.  They truly catered to our every whim, whether it was giving us a mini-fridge or a few spoons to eat our yogurt (that we bought down the street at Acme, HA!)  Belatedly I realized I didn’t get a single photo of my friends.  Boo.  Just means we’ll have to do it again soon to right that wrong.  The time away was just so relaxing, I barely took any photos at all.  Here are a few of the ones I did take:

my favorite shop in the entire town; so inspiring!

St. Michaels is a sailing town; lots of men with brightly colored paints and a yacht in the harbor!

a cute town needs cute signs; here’s just one of them!

the entry to the inn
the breakfast area (overlooks the water… heavenly…)
This was the view from our room.  A girl could get used to living like this…

the inn

yes, that’s a wagon full of puppies.

this shop was divine, full of goodies!  look at the window display, so many great ideas in one place.

This shirt makes me laugh every time.  Someday I’ll buy it…

One of my favorite moments was a leisurely discussion (possibly almost 2 hours long} over a flight of beer samples at Eastern Shore Brewing.  If there’s a brewery in town, leave it to me to find it!  The Hefeweizen was divine.  As was the conversation.  😉  Love you, girls!

Now it’s your turn, link up.  If you don’t have a blog, simply comment to tell me your favorite places to go.  Or, even a place you’d love to visit.  To sweeten the deal, one person who comments and/or links (do both for two entries) will win $25 to spend any way you please at Pear Tree Greetings.  You can choose birth announcements, party invitations, holiday photo cards (WHAT?  did I just say that?!?)– whatever you want.  I’ll choose the winner next Monday through Random.org.

There’s no requirements to link up, but it would be great to visit the link before and after yours to spread the travel bug.  You can link up posts that have anything to do with travel– favorite places, advertise your hometown, travel tips/tricks to pass along– it’s all good.

As for Mondays, bring. it. on.  Go ahead and link and/or comment for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Pear Tree Greetings— and to share your favorite travel destinations too, of course!
