Winter is coming, are you ready? I’ve been scouting out and stocking up on these fashion favorites in preparation for the upcoming winter season. When I’m running around in the snow and the ice, I also like to feel stylish, and these picks fit the bill. Each year I add a few more items to my wardrobe to make winter more bearable, whether it’s the perfect boots or coziest blanket scarf. I’d planned to post this on Friday (a ‘Fashion Favorites Friday, to be exact) but there were a few sales I didn’t want you to miss so I’m posting early. Here you go, the best winter fashion finds that I’m crushing on this year!
::: SALE ALERT! Olive green is a universally flattering color, so when I saw this gorgeous DKNY Anorak Jacket with Faux Fur Trimmed Hood was on sale I snapped it up! I tried it on in store first to see if it passed my rigorous jacket standards, and it certainly did. Check out those cuffs, they’re sweater cuffs to keep the cool air (and snow) out. Then the hood is not only lined with faux fur but also warmly lined inside, as is the collar. The entire jacket is substantial so I think it’ll pass the cold weather errands test. They didn’t have my size so I ordered it online (love that free shipping!) and can’t wait to wear it. I’ll share pics on Instagram when it arrives!
Here’s those details: the sweater cuffs and lined hood, SWOON!
::: This Krush Faux Fur Hooded Jacket looks amazing, I love this camel color– and you can snag it for even less than the DKNY Anorak. Doesn’t have the same toasty warm details but it sure looks good.
::: Each year, I make the mistake of waiting until December to start looking for boots. NEWSFLASH: all the good ones are sold out by then, and even the not-so-good-ones are in short supply. So if you’re in the market for boots, do not pass go, do not collect $200, GET THEM NOW. With this in mind, I found these Helly Hansen Garibaldi boots and I LOVE THEM. They’re super comfy, stylish, warm, and most importantly have a serious tread at the bottom for dealing with snow and ice.
::: Did you know the now-trending (always classic) Bean Boots are on a 6 month back order?! These Sorel ‘Out N About’ boots or the taller Caribou boots make a great alternative for the Bean boots if you don’t want to wait until spring. 😉
::: Layers are one way I beat the chill, and this gorgeous open front cardigan is super soft and warm. I’d have bought it, but refrained because I have it’s twin in the gray and white version. 😉
::: A few years ago I purchased a pricey rain jacket THAT WASN’T WATERPROOF. Too bad I didn’t discover that until the first downpour! Ugh. Anyways, I added this rain jacket into my rotation last year and couldn’t be happier. I simply throw it over my favorite winter jacket for a hooded, waterproof layer. It’s perfect in every season, actually. And, get this: IT’S WATERPROOF. Imagine that! Mine is white, but a few gorgeous colors are on sale, too; BONUS!
::: My husband gifted me these slippers a few years ago and I have to admit that out of the box I wasn’t so sure about them… until I slipped them on. That’s when I fell in love. They have a thick tread that’s perfect for dashing out to get the newspaper or mail without ruining the bottoms, but the insides are so cozy and warm! I wear them from the moment I get home until I leave the next morning, only taking them off while sleeping. Maybe. 😉 Seriously, these are so great!
::: Oh my gracious, this blanket scarf is the epitome of coziness! It’s HUGE and super soft and I want to sleep in it. But I don’t. But I COULD, because it’s literally the size of a small blanket. I’ll take photos soon because these do not do it justice, but for now, LOVE! If you like it, QUICK, go get it– it goes out of stock quickly because it’s super popular.
