I seriously get sick to my stomach thinking about all the things I used to smear on my skin, which just so happens to be your body’s largest organ (and absorbs everything that touches it like a sponge!) Products that contain harmful chemicals such as parabens, phylates, and FD&C color and pigments– many of which have been linked to cancers and other horrible afflictions. And I would put these toxins ALL OVER MY FREAKING SKIN. I’m so thankful I started making the switch to natural products. It hasn’t been an overnight process but slowly and surely I’ve changed out a few products a month and now am almost all 100% natural with my beauty routine (the exception being makeup and hair mousse, but I’m working on that!)
Here’s a list of my absolute favorite natural beauty and personal care products. Since I’m on Essential Rewards (Young Living’s autoship program) I now get points back with every order. I turn right around and use them to try new products… something I was never able to do at the big box stores! Plus the Young Living products go A LONG way, a little dab will do. Below are my must-haves, the items I’ve incorporated into my daily beauty routine and haven’t looked back since!
NingXia Red: the first thing I put in my body all day, because drinking one ounce daily has given me my life back and I’m feeling like I’m in my 20’s again, minus the college all-nighters. While not a ‘beauty product’ per say, NingXia Red has helped me get to the gym 5 days a week now, so there’s that. 🙂
Sheerlume: my daily go-to face cream, because glowing skin is all the rage and I’ll admit I love the compliments I get when using this cream!
Boswelia Wrinkle Cream: because I just turned 40.
Essential Beauty Serum: because occasional dry skin pops up all year long, from too much sun to too much heat to anything in between.
Frankincense: because I have SKIN! And it ages and occasionally it needs support.
Valor Bar Soap: because Valor oil is out of stock until the fall, and I NEED my Valor fix!
Slique oil: in my daily water, because it’s summer and there’s no bulky sweaters to hide behind.
Satin Mint Facial Scrub: because I need to wake up in the morning, and my face is a great place to start. Plus it exfoliates beautifully.
Orange Blossom Face Wash: because I want to get the grime of the day off of my face. And also? Ahhhhhhh….
Tea Tree Oil: because I don’t always have time to shower after the gym. ‘Nuff said.
Purification Oil: see above. 😉
Lavender Body Lotion: because sometimes I want to sleep like a baby. A baby that gets a lot of restful sleep. Other times, it’s my skin that needs calming. Either way, this does the trick.
ART Creme Mask: because, again, I JUST TURNED 40. And woah baby, this product rocks as a night cream.
Sleep Essence capsules: because a girl needs her beauty sleep.
It wasn’t until I started paying attention that I realized how many products I was using WEREN’T natural. Go ahead, give it a try– make a list of everything you put on your skin and in your body from sunrise to sunset. Yikes, right?!
When I first started using essential oils, I confess I loved the oils so much I didn’t try the products for awhile. One year later, and this girl is a total convert. I wouldn’t use them if I didn’t love them. They’re such a natural progression from health with the oils to overall wellness by overhauling my beauty routine. I’m not kidding when I say I feel better than I did 20 years ago. The all-nights and slight college hangovers excluded, of course. 😉
A few of my friends are also sharing how they use their oils each day, and I love that we all have different routines because our needs are different. Be sure to check out the Day in the Life posts from Jessica at Eat Sleep Be, Hillary from MyScraps, and Trina at O’Boy Organic. If inquiring minds want to know how I use my oils every day, this Day in the Life post shares intimate details on how I get the most from my essential oils!
Want to get these products for 24% off (or free, once you start earning points if you sign up for Essential Rewards?) I’ve answered all your questions here, plus I added a new limited time special to help you get started because I’m so passionate about these products and want everyone to give them a try.
Now, any natural makeup advice to share? It’s my last territory to conquer now that I cleaned out my medicine cabinet and cleaning closet!
