Winner: First of all, a big congrats to Christine L. for winning the Hickory Farms giveaway. I hope your family enjoys the delicious gift set. I know we sure did!
Quick Dinner Recipe: Speaking of our gift basket, here’s a confession: I used some of the Summer Sausage in an easy dinner recipe. I simply chopped up a few ounces of the sausage, stirred it into tomato sauce, and warmed it in the microwave for a few minutes. Then stirred it in with some cooked pasta and topped it with Parmesan cheese. Voila, Pepperoni Pizza Pasta! My kids and husband devoured it. Not too shabbby– a family friendly recipe with about 5 minutes of work on my part, right?
Need a gift idea? Hickory Farms has you covered with their quality products. They offer a variety of specialty foods and holiday food gifts that are perfect for any budget and for everyone on your list this year, like the Picnic Tote:
Not only do they look beautiful, they taste delicious. {I even bought more sausage last week when I saw a display in my grocery store. The Summer Sausage, recently rated the #1 Summer Sausage in America and winning the 2011 Masters of Taste Gold Medal for Superior Taste, makes a great stocking stuffer!}
Charitable Giving: One of the reasons I wanted to work with Hickory Farms on this campaign is their partnership with SOS (Share Our Strength). SOS works to stamp out childhood hunger, a cause close to my heart. When I went through my teaching program in college, no one prepared us that we’d possibly see families struggling to eat or children who come to school hungry with no money for lunch or breakfast in their bellies. Yet this was a daily reality for many of my students. Thankfully, Hickory Farms has found ways to support SOS, and this holiday season will donate $5 from each Party Planner Gift Box (to date, they’ve donated $1.9 million!
But wait– there’s more. Hickory Farms also has a partnership with Operation Gratitude– a non-profit that provides care packages to families. Hickor
