Now that the calendar says it’s officially fall, it’s time to start snuggling up in sweaters and sipping hot cider to warm these chilly nights. My husband loves to make this recipe for hot caramel apple cider, and when I’ve had a tough day I’m more likely than not to find a steaming cup of it in my hand. It serves as the perfect pick-me-up in the morning in place of coffee, too. Just something different to make the colder days full of seasonal cheer!
The ingredients are simple:
1 1/2 cups apple cider
1 1/2 tablespoons caramel sauce
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
You can add in a cinnamon stick or dash of orange juice to spice things up a bit if you wish.
Combine in a saucepan and stir.
Pour into mug. Probably I should have strained out the cinnamon sticks, but they looked so pretty.
