I’ll admit this weekend didn’t start out as promising. I had a minor procedure on Friday (okay, let’s just call it what it is: a colonoscopy) and then a tax appointment on Saturday. Doesn’t that sounds like a blast? I figured my weekend was shot, but instead, it thankfully could only get better. And warm weather rolled in on Sunday, which helped me get my DIY mojo back!
It was incredible, that fresh air. It caused some wild things to happen!
It turned into Abby into Anna (wish I’d gotten a better photo, this facepainter had talent.)
I changed the knobs on a bathroom cabinet (I’ve only had it on my to-do list for 3 years…)
I completed about 47 DIY projects (here’s a sneak peek of a FEW of the BEFOREs of a FEW of the projects!):
Found a billion forgotten items in my spray paint pile. Rearranged my massive paint pile while I was there.
Almost finished Bee’s room makeover, and started on our master bedroom. YAY!
Took down my winter decor. That’s right. These poor deer have been staring at me since December.
What do you think, are owls too winter-y? I left him up for now.
My West Elm gold pinecones STAY, however. I’m bringing back the summer pinecone trend. (there never was a summer pinecone trend, was there? too bad. i’d like to bring it back.)
We played at Whole Foods.
I took my own advice– busted through some clutter AND dropped it all off at the thrift store.
Enjoyed seeing my kids gobble down this spring snack Abby made at school. It’s a Peep. In a nest. Made just like rice krispie treats (marshmallows & butter) but with those crunchy chow mien noodles in place of the rice krispies. Add on the malted eggs and Peep. Cuteness overload!
And of course, we all took some time to play in the proverbial mud. Bee had his shoes off, I got paint in my hair, and life was good.
What a weekend. From a crappy start (haha, see what I did there?) to a whirlwind of some DIY therapy, it’s giving me hope that energy will once again return to my bones!
Did you get anything knocked off your to-do list? What’s your favorite way to spend spring weekends– any other DIY weekend warriors out there?
