I’m not turning my blog into an essential oil blog, pinkie swear– however, these amazing oils have become so much a part of my life that I feel the need to share what’s working well for my family once in awhile. My goal is one oily post a month– not frequent enough to turn away my loyal readers, but often enough to help out those of you using the oils and looking for tips and ideas. With back to school season approaching, my mind has been on boosting immunity and easing the inevitable colds and other overall icky-ness that arrives at the same time as the school buses. As a former teacher, I WISH I’d had these oils on hand back in the day!
FYI, you’re not seeing stars. Items marked with a * below come in the Premium Starter Kit. Just so ya know.
Here’s what I’m stocking up on this season– essential oils (and products) to support immunity, ease the “I don’t want to school” feelings (mine AND my kids, HA!), improve focus, and ease symptoms of The Yuck that happens a few weeks after classes begin.
First of all, I’m OBSESSED with Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier. I buy them in 3-packs because I go through them so quickly. It smells amazing (“like Christmas, mommy!” say the kids) and feels soft when I spread it on my hands, if that makes sense. It doesn’t dry out my hands like other hand sanitizers. Well worth it! And FREE if you order the Premium Starter Kit from me this month. Keep reading. 😉
Apparently Thieves Oil* (which smells amazing, like cinnamon and cloves) can go out of stock in the thick of cold/flu season. I’m ordering several bottles because this stuff is amazing. I use it on the bottom of my kids’ feet to boost immunity when there’s illness in the air. You can also diffuse it to keep the air nice and clean. I dilute the oil and put a fitment roller ball on the bottle and roll it on my kids feet at night and before school. Ask me how well this works– seriously, email and ask me!! And don’t even get me started on what happens when I put a few drops of Purification Oil* behind my son’s ear when he starts tugging on it because a you-know-what is brewing. Let’s just say I’m totally in love with the power of these oils.
Another fave, the Thieves cleaner is amazing and comes super concentrated. One bottle can last years. I love the scent, it cleans beautifully, and kills surface germs. Thieves is stealing my heart. Heh.
ImmuPower Blend: I haven’t tried this yet but have heard good things. If the Thieves doesn’t work as the fall progresses then this one is next on my list to try.
Homework time rolls around after school and NO ONE is on top of their mental game. What to do? Perhaps diffuse some orange, lemon*, or peppermint* essential oil at the homework table to improve clarity and focus. If your child struggles with paying attention during the school day, try some vetiver oil on the bottoms of their feet. Each person reacts different to each oil but those are ones that many people seem to find helpful when trying to improve focus!
Battle the Yuckies
There’s really no other word for the crud that kids pick up at school except ‘the yuckies’. I can count on them coming down with something within the first few weeks of school (though this is the first year I’ll have Thieves oil in my arsenal, so maybe not?) Anyways, there’s a few oils that have helped my kids tremendously:
RC: this oil is a miracle in a bottle for my daughter. I wish I could tell you all about it, but FDA regulations prohibit that. Suffice it to say RC goes in my daughter’s diffuser when she’s battling the yuckies and I could literally kiss the bottle it’s been such a blessing for her.
Eucalyptus Blue: I’ve heard great things about using Eucalyptus Blue as well. It’s in my order this month, looking forward to giving it a test drive.
Breathe Again: another blend for battling the Yucks, Breathe Again comes in a roll-on which is handy for traveling and carrying around.
DiGize: for tummy trouble. I’ve been using this myself and really like it!
Peppermint*: peppermint is VERY cooling, so when my son’s feeling hot (catch my drift?) I put it on the bottom of his feet. I’m trying to think of an FDA compliant way to say this one, so here’s my best try: when my skin feels like a bees house (you know, they live in a _____), I dilute peppermint oil and apply it to cool things down. #blessedrelief
Rosemary. I promised I wouldn’t mention it on here again, so you can read why Rosemary Rocks here. 😉
Courage and Esteem
My little Noodle is heading to kindergarten at a totally new school with kids she doesn’t know this fall, and while she’s putting on a brave face I know there’s bound to be some stress. Here’s a few oils we LOVE around here!
* Valor: If I could legally marry Valor, I probably would. This stuff is amazing. It makes me feel great and it’s perfect for giving a boost of confidence!
* Peace and Calming: This is what my son refers to as “sleeping oil”. I put it on the bottom of his feet at night or when he’s wound up. Perfect for nighttime sleeplessness.
Just a reminder, anything above with a * comes in the Premium Starter Kit.
I highly suggest grabbing several of your favorite oils NOW while they’re in stock! You don’t want to be caught in the middle of November or a Zombie Apocalypse without Thieves or RC. Things come in and out of stock frequently because Young Living is just EXPLODING in growth so I don’t hesitate to buy extras whenever I can!
If you sign up under me this month, I have a special you’ll love. You can choose either a 3-pack of the Thieves Hand Purifier OR the Quick Reference Guide for Using Essential Oils!
