My philosophy this year was to make it easy to transition from Halloween to Thanksgiving. With that in mind, most of my decorations could pass for either holiday with a few quick changes. That way I can focus on getting ready for the 10+ people in our home on Thanksgiving and not cleaning up yesterday’s Halloween decor!
Here’s the candlescape my dad bought me for Christmas one year. Yes, my DAD picked it out at Crate and Barrel. I couldn’t believe it. It’s totally “me”, and he’s so not the type to spend that kind of money on something like a candlescape! I’m glad he did. It transitions perfectly from season to season, and it really is so “me”!
Remember this vase? It’s a $4 thrift store find that has a $70 Pier One sticker on the bottom. I threw in some curly willow to mimic the branches outside our window this time of year.
A few “puffs” pop against the yellow wall color. Like the bar cart? It was a $3 thrift store makeover.
As for the gigantic pumpkin Noodle fell in love with, we kept it simple. It blends well with our flower pots that are still going strong even in November!
That’s our simple seasonal decor. Which decorating route did you take, all-out like Martha Stewart or simple and easy like lazy ol’ me?
