Sorry I’ve been MIA, but I’m furiously getting ready for a weekend trip to Charleston with my girlfriends. Not that I’ve gotten myself ready, but rather getting the house and kids ready for a weekend without mama. Laundry, food shopping, filling prescriptions, cleaning… whew, I might have to show up in my pajamas for the flight since I’ve neglected to pack yet!
I’m hoping to steal a few quiet minutes in the airport to work on the approximately 3257 posts I’ve yet to publish, but most likely I’ll be running toward the gate with moments to spare before boarding. I hate getting to the airport late, but it’s going to be kinda hard to say goodbye to my babies. I’ve never been away from them for longer than a day since Bee was born. They were so good for me today it made my heart ache. It’s like they knew I was going away and wanted to fill me with mommy guilt. They were sweet, loving, huggy, and independent. Which makes up for yesterday’s episodes, Noodle, in case you are reading this in about 15 years!
Almost 10 years have passed since I’ve visited Charleston. Although it seems like a city that doesn’t change all that much. What are your favorite places to see/eat/drink/shop? We want to do it all… and, not much of anything at the same time. Whatcha’ got for me, friends? It’s my first time on the loose in about 3 years!

I’ve been to Monza Pizza @ 451 King Street and it is awesome! Pretty reasonable for Downtown Charleston and the pizza is wonderful! Salads too! We got the spinach and goat cheese and it was way yummy. I live in a suburb of Charleston so I wave to you from a distance 😉 Enjoy your trip!

Ooooo! Charleston is fabulous!…EAT!! Eat everything in sight…and then take a buggy ride so you can have time to digest it all in calm, peace, and quiet. 🙂 Have a good time in the ‘Old South’!

I live in SC and try to get to Charleston when I can. I love it there. You must visit the Market for great shopping and there are lots of shops downtown. Here are a few restaurants I recommend trying Fig, Old Towne Grill & Seafood, and Hyman’s Seafood. Of course, there are many great places to eat there. I hope you enjoy your stay.

I lived in Charleston for seven years before we moved to PA. Are you staying downtown?
Downtown: Hank’s Seafood is amazing. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Vendue Inn downtown has a rooftop bar and restaurant. I’ve not eaten there but I’ve had many drinks there. There’s also Pavilion Rooftop Bar.
Mt Pleasant: Melvin has BBQ and burgers that I dream about. The Mustard Seed has great fresh healthy food. The Windjammer (on IOP) has great live music on the weekends.
Things to do: Of course the Market is great for shopping. If you like tours take one. I like the ghost tours. It’s a great way to learn interesting facts about Charleston.
Have a great time!

I prefer slopping down some BBQ shrimp and grits at 82 Queen.

Have a great time. I am going away next weekend and feel your organizing/mommy guilt pain!
I love the shopping in the market!
