The book DIY Wood Pallet Projects is intriguing on it’s own since transforming wooden pallets into gorgeous home decor and furniture is all the rage right now. But when the package containing it arrived in the mail, I took one look at the author’s name and like Buddy in Elf when he saw Santa, screamed “I KNOW HER!!!” I’ll admit though that even if I didn’t know the author personally, I would still be impressed with this book. The instructions are easy to follow and I adore every single idea.
The author of this new book justsohappens to be my friend Karah. You know, the one I drove the California coast with last fall where we bonded over our mutual love of both adventure and the Red Sox? Karah’s the real deal, ripping down drywall and vaulting ceilings while I’m over here spray painting Dollar Store pumpkins.
Karah lives in Key West and is a magician with power tools and FREE wooden pallets. Unlike most magicians, though, she’s spilling her secrets on how to turn plain wooden pallets into beautiful home decor, furniture, and more.
I have a confession, however: wood pallets aren’t something I’ve played with yet. I’m not sure where to even find them, or know how to clean them. No worries, Karah has you covered with step-by-step instructions and easy to read directions.
Look, abracadabra! A wooden bench FROM FREE PALLETS!
And a frame.
Holiday decor, anyone?
Time to DIY!
Does the magic end? Nope, there’s 35 projects in this book that you’ll love to tackle. With Karah’s know-how and humor, the book is an easy read and actually had me thinking, ‘I could do this!’ If you’re working on your holiday wish list, feel free to pin or share this with Santa. 😉
Don’t worry, I’m not going to simply name drop and brag about the book. I’m giving away a copy to a lucky reader, too! Let’s make it easy and go the old fashioned route: to enter, simply comment with a project you’d like to try or tell me to whom you’d give this book.
For extra entries: share on Facebook, tweet, or pin– as many times as you’d like– just leave a comment each time that you do.
Old School giveaway, y’all. 😉
You can find DIY Wood Pallet Projects on Amazon.com, along with just about everything else you might ever want or need.
Congrats on your gorgeous book, Karah. It’s a homerun. A RED SOX homerun, to be exact. Now, where’s my power tools? I’m off to scout some wooden pallets. Mama needs a new bench and a driftwood fish!

Not sure if you noticed the publisher, Jo-Lynne– two of my friends were writing books for Adams at the same time. 😉 Can’t wait to get my hands on your book, too!

Wow!!! What a wonderful book, an great timing… I just got permission from a local store to get free pallets… and I really do want to make the shown bench (beautiful). Please!!! Such a lovely presentation on the book’s cover, too!

I would love to make that star, it just has my name all over it! Our local newspaper gives their pallets away for free. Then I would attempt the clock, and once I became all used to doing pallet work I would attempt the bench, who doesn’t love someplace to park their backside?

I LOVE the star with the Christmas lights around it…..Thanks you for the giveaway!!

Considering my husband uses our scrap pallets (we recycle pallets for a living) to make furniture I’m surprised we haven’t seen this book before. It looks like an awesome book for sure and from the pictures it seems to be filled with some amazing tips and ideas.
