My neighbors are the sweetest. Each season, something enticing arrives on the doorstep– zucchini bread in summer, spice bread baked in ceramic bread bakers in the winter, buckets of Easter goodies in the spring… you name it, they’ve done it. We needed to come up with something clever for Easter so we could reciprocate their kindness, and I hatched this inexpensive but festive project– a delicious cookie bouquet that can double as an Easter centerpiece.
After an adventurous trip to the Dollar Store with both kids {aren’t you proud of me?}, we had our supplies:
planters ($1 each)
floral foam ($1 for two)
cookie lollipop sticks from JoAnn Fabric (about $1.50 for the pack)
and cookie ingredients from the pantry.
We used this sugar cookie recipe and rolled the dough fairly thick to accommodate the sticks. In hindsight, I would have used a different icing for the cookies and not the confectioner’s sugar one that came with that particular recipe.
Once baked and iced, we put everything together.
Planter + foam + moss (or you could use Easter grass or raffia…) + cookie lollipops=
Finally, we can do something nice for our sweet neighbors. Plus, they can double as Easter centerpieces so they are nice and cheery! Do you know someone who could use a pick-me-up or some yummy treats?

Love it! I am Jewish, and every year for Purim (a few weeks to a month before Easter) we give ‘Purim baskets’ that are full of food and candy. This year I did a ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ theme with croissants, jelly, orange juice and champagne. Maybe next year I will do a ‘garden’ theme and try those amazing cookies!
Thanks doll,
