Hello and happy Friday! I’m partnering up with Glamour Farms again to share with you an essential piece for fall: a cinched cargo jacket. Why is the cargo jacket so great? First, it’s warm without being too bulky. Also, it’s olive colored which is a universally flattering color. Don’t believe me? Go try one on, and try to tell me that color doesn’t look gorgeous on you!!!
I love working with Glamour Farms because they give YOU a gift– if you use the code MAKINGLEMONADE821 at checkout you’ll get $10 off your regular priced order over $20. Not just on this jacket, on ANYTHING on their site!
It’s super easy to throw on over everything from tanks (as I’m wearing here), tees, and even sweaters. I’m also wearing the Elizabeth Skinny Jeans from the last post. I think I’ve worn them almost every day, I love them so much! (yes, I washed them. Most of the time.)
When Glamour Farms first sent me this piece (the Sage Creek Cargo Jacket in Olive), I was thrilled because a cargo jacket is on my ‘must-have’ list. However, at first it seemed a little big. That’s when their stylist was like, it cinches, Carrie! Ahhhhhh. The double secret cinch! Look what was hiding inside the jacket (:: palm to forehead ::)
I really need to be more observant. Anyways, forgive the awkward positioning and mirror selfie (oh, how I can’t wait until I have a backyard again to freak out the neighbors with blogging photo shoots!) but here’s how it looks seriously cinched.
Sizing info: typically I’m a size 6 and wear a small, but this jacket is definitely an oversized cut. It’s a size S but fits more like a large. Which is pretty great, because it’s sized to wear over layers and keep you warm. Therefore, I’d order a size smaller than usual. I cinched it to create a waist (since I don’t really have one, or I do have a waist but it’s currently pouched out) and also cuffed it because who doesn’t love a good cuff?
Don’t you love the detail on the sleeve? That’s what made me fall in love with this one, the difference is in the details.
I paired it with a blanket scarf, and I hate to say it because it’s out of stock, but I LOVE this blanket scarf because it’s not too heavy and outrageous. Sometimes blanket scarves are ridiculously oversized and aren’t practical; this one, however, is perfection because it’s light and easy to style while still having nice bulk which looks so chic. I’ll keep my eye on it and let you know when it’s back in stock but I linked up a few similar styles below.
