As you know, we have a lot of redecorating going on here at Making Lemonade! Now that you’ve seen how we are going to convert the guest room into a guest room/ office, it’s time to reveal the master plan for Noodle’s Big Girl room.
Her nursery is currently decorated with birds, so I’d like to keep the birds but add in another element as well. That led me to a garden theme; there’s so much I could do with that! I have a million ideas in my head, but hoped to find ways to implement them with some inspiration from the interweb to illustrate them. Here you go, my inspiration file for Noodle’s Garden!
I’d like to do a “two-tone” paint job, but have the line higher up on the wall. I thought jumbo rick-rack would make a could “buffer” between the two lines, but I am also intrigued by the following ideas from Design Dazzle:
If I don’t do two-toned, how about a trellis as the “beadboard” like in this garden nursery:
Here is a way to incorporate flowers into the garden room: large flowers painted on the wall. I liked this idea, and thought jumbo rick-rick might make a fun stem. Or, as flower heads, I have an idea up my sleeve that I’m hoping to pull off as a surprise! This photo came from the Flower Girl room, also on Design Dazzle:
Bow Holder
Oh my goodness, seriously, how cute are these window boxes? This might put the whole theme over the top, but if we can incorporate them, we will!
If we don’t go with a two-toned room, then we WILL have a background mural such as this Cherry Blossom room:
Isn’t this mobile/lamp idea swoon-worthy? It’s made from an IKEA lamp, leaf ribbon, and felt birds:
Okay, as a tease, here’s my inspiration board for Noodle’s Garden. The details aren’t exact, but it might give you an idea as to what’s up my sleeve:
Next up: my inspiration file for Baby Boy’s room. Then, after all this talking, it’s time to start MAKING IT HAPPEN!

I think it’s great you guys have all these coupon offers. We don’t seem to have the same thing here, although we do have ‘money off’ vouchers on things we NEVER use. We’re forever getting things for shampoos, make up and so on that we just don’t ever buy, so buying them ‘cheaper’ wouldn’t be much of a saving. Specially where cheaper is more expensive than our normal brands! But we’re doing the same saving thing over here – and it’s been interesting seeing the changes we’ve had to make. Few of them have actually been ‘sacrifices’. And this moring we bought fresh pastries for breakfast with the remains of our weekly budget. Yay us! :o)
