Chances are that if you have kids you’re going to be at home with them in the next few weeks to practice social distancing. My kiddos wanted to help out, so we brainstormed our favorite screen-free ideas and whipped up a free printable for you!

(Trust me, they had plenty of screen ideas too– among them to make a video game, binge watch your favorite t.v. show, and watch movies. We’re not tryna’ to spend 3 weeks at home totally screen-free.)

How to Use the Kids’ Indoor Activities Printable

You can use it any way you wish of course, but I printed out two copies (one for each kiddo) and let them work through it in any order they wanted. Older siblings can help younger ones, and honestly if they’re old enough I consider it a learning experience to have them figure out how to do the activities and also clean up after themselves.

Resources For Doing the Kids’ Activities on the Free Printable

While most of the activities are self-explanatory, here’s a few resources for completing the activities and/or kits to help:

  • DIY recipes for Playdoh, Slime and Bubbles
  • Our favorite fort-making set (you can use cushions and sheets too, but this kit is cool for older kids!)
  • How to Make a Fairy Garden (use what you have, maybe it’s going to be a pirate or dinosaur garden)
  • Puppet Show Ideas (it’s an old post, but has a free printable with puppet ideas)
  • For the nature hunt, if you have more than one child at home have them make scavenger hunts for each other. If you don’t have access to being outside, they can do inside scavenger hunts too. Have them use all 5 senses to make it: what they see, hear, touch, taste and smell.
  • To make popsicles, you can use a popsicle making kit or paper cups with popsicle sticks
  • Invent a Board Game Set (of course you can do this without the kit, but this kit is pretty awesome)
  • DIY Pretend Grocery Store (you don’t need to get that fancy though, for the pretend stores they made this week my kids made a ‘Rocks and Minerals Store’ and, wait for it… a casino.)
  • YouTube Kids has free kids’ yoga videos to help guide them through it, or try a Kids Yoga video
