We got crafty here this weekend. Nothing like waiting until the last minute for some Halloween craftiness!
Our neighborhood is L-A-M-E when it comes to trick or treating, so we don’t get many visitors. But I still buy lots of candy just in case we suddenly get an influx of ravenous trick or treaters. Which then we eat. To keep my hands off the candy and entice people to start thinking our neighborhood is a cool trick-or-treating spot I made Boo Bags:
It was easy, I just cut the tops off paper bags with pinking shears. Then I cut circles out of orange paper to look like moons, which I stamped with a ghost. I filled them with candy and play-doh (for the kids with nut allergies) and tied them off with black ribbon “bats”. Our {few} visitors loved the surprise of getting a whole bag of treats!
Then came the pumpkins. I used a black paint pen to decorate the pumpkins we picked out weeks ago. Since we chose pumpkins to represent the family it was easy to choose a design for each.
For the husband, a {sad} Notre Dame fan:
For my Noodle, who is obsessed with pirates (I think it’s a Backyardigans thing?):
For sweet baby bee, who usually has a mouth open either crying, cooing, or eating:
And for me. I wanted to do a trellis pattern since I’m obsessed, but that would take too long. So… I just did squiggles. It took 4 minutes. PERFECT!
Our pumpkin family:
Noodle got in on the act when we talked about pumpkins (“unkees!”) in home preschool. She put all the tissue paper and eyes on the pumpkin. Why stop at 2 eyes when you can have 3? I’m so proud!
