Me: “I’m huge. Nothing fits.”
Hubby: “Honey, it’s only been seven weeks since you had the baby. Don’t be so hard on yourself.”
Enough is enough. I’m got so tired of wearing my maternity clothes after I had my baby that I packed them into boxes and sent them to two pregnant friends to refresh their trimester three maternity wardrobes.
As I ranted in a previous post, I’m on a weight loss journey. I have twenty pounds of baby weight to lose and despite all efforts it is not coming off at all. I decided that instead of resisting it, I had to finally go out and get some clothes that fit.
With that in mind I set out on a very depressing trip to T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. Which isn’t to say I wasn’t successful. They had very cute clothes, and great prices. The problem came when I browsed the rack of pants a size above what I normally wear.
I skipped into the dressing room to try them on… and only one pair fit.
Which meant I had to visit another rack of clothes. THAT rack. The rack in a size I’d never thought I’d ever wear. And those fit. Drat.
Needless to say, I found a lot of trendy and passable clothes to get me through this period. For under $150, here’s what I ended up with:
