Is your name a derivative of the name Jennifer? If not, then you probably didn’t win one of the giveaways this week. Congrats to Jen J. for winning the My Baby Clothes gift certificate and another Jenny (Olivemom) for winning the Pear Tree Greetings giveaway. Just call it a twist of fate, two cool ladies named Jen and/or Jenny won the loot. Woot! (it rhymes, had to go there.)(so sorry.)(plus I think periods are supposed to go after the parenthesis but it looks weird, so now I’m really getting loopy.)
Wanna hear my progress on Noodle’s room makeover? I bought the paint. Took things off the walls. Filled a few nail holes with putty, and I’m halfway through taping. This is progress, people! Especially considering my husband is traveling and the room needs to be done by Sunday. Anyone want to stop by to paint? Um, I mean for a playdate. Yeah, a playdate. I promise I won’t lock you in the bird nursery and prod you with a roller until my walls are… ooooo, I almost gave away the color. You’ll have to wait until Sunday (probably midnight) to find out. 😉
Of course, on our way out of Walmart after buying the paint the skies opened up and the kids and I were drenched. Literally looked like we’d taken a shower with our clothes on (for me, a white tee-shirt. Yes, I’m proud to say this was my first wet tee-shirt contest, the prize being NOTHING. Drat). The temp went from like 95 degrees to 70 in the air conditioning and we were freezing! Had to haul out the space heater and strip off the kid’s clothes and snuggle them in towels! {at home, not at Walmart}. They loved it, thank goodness for their sweet little personalities and addiction to water. I’m not lying about the addiction, if you’ve ever seen them in action you know what I mean. Slurp.
Here’s my breakdown of the rest of the week, paint schedule wise. I’m counting on you to hold me to it:
- Wednesday- tape the room
- Thursday- sand the walls where needed and clean up any dust
- Friday- cut in around the edges with paint, if time allows do first coat
- Saturday- paint second coat, paint bookcase
- Sunday- take down tape, spraypaint frames, paint stripe within the moulding, hang frames, move furniture, put down new rug, add new bedding, hang a few special surprises, load up the bookcase, sew curtains, put outlet covers back on…
We’ll see about Sunday. I’m sure I’ll still be sanding walls by the time noon rolls around. Always an adventure around here, and it usually involves paint!

Sounds like a lot of work ahead. Too bad you live so far away. Plus I don’t have time to paint…I mean time for a playdate! LOL

You’re too funny. I can’t believe how brave you are to makeover a room and care for two little ones while your hubby is out of town. Good luck!

YES! At last the Pear Tree is mine! Tee hee.
And of course, just when I was about to tell you about how much progress I had made in my own house with organizing paperwork, you have to go and redecorate a whole ‘nother room. Now my freshly labeled file folders don’t seem as impressive. SIGH!

Yayyy! I’m so excited to win, I love baby stuff 🙂
Looking forward to following Noodle’s room progress! I’m about to do a makeover in one of my home spaces too. Should be announcing soon on my blog. 🙂
