I’ve been sitting on about ten half-written posts full of DIY projects, room makeovers, and more (including answers to the questions you asked in the Vera Bradley giveaway). Can you believe I’ve been so lazy busy I haven’t had a chance to finish them and get them posted? I’ve also reached that point in my pregnancy where things are getting uncomfortable. And by uncomfortable, I mean “how-on-earth-am-I-going-to-get-through-four-more-weeks-of-this?” Put those two factors together and I’ve been a bad, bad blogger. I’m trying to make amends, so here are a few personal tidbits to fill you in on our last week or two:
::: Demonstrating why I’m not cut out for pregnancy, I fell down the basement steps last week. Seriously, who does that? Thankfully I landed on my knees and hands while protecting my baby bump, but it was scary for a minute there. Additionally, I think I broke my big toe or at least really messed it up. I still can’t put much pressure on it, and am thankful it’s open-toed shoe season because my sneakers hurt too much to wear. I’m thanking my guardian angels it wasn’t worse. Still, I’m waddling even more than I should be at 35 weeks pregnant!
::: The Hubs was supposed to fly to London on business this week. Leaving me here at 35 weeks pregnant with a toddler. And a broken toe. To say I was dreading it would be an understatement. Apparently praying to the Nordic gods worked because the volcano in Iceland grounded all flights to and from the UK. I feel terrible for those that are stuck there (or here), but my selfish side is wondering if I have some Viking blood in me to make an event that only happens ever 200 years or so happen the day before he was supposed to leave. We are now happily settling in for a weekend of yardwork family time. Thank you, Eyjafjallajokull volcano! {Please note that I’m truly sorry for those who have travel plans disrupted… except for my husband…}
::: Remember the free weekend of Care.com access I mentioned a few weeks ago? Thanks to that freebie, my husband and I found a babysitter and were able to have a date! Sadly, it was only the third time we’d ever been out alone since Noodle was born. Also sadly, we had to rush the dinner to get back in time to feed her: “here’s our drink order and appetizer order and dinner order and oh, can you also bring the check? ‘k thanks!” Another babysitting website allowed me to find another great sitter AND a mother’s helper this summer. Looks like I’m going to have to do some SERIOUS couponing to pay for her, but we see no other way. I’ll be a human cafeteria this summer trying to feed a newborn and get in Noodle’s seven daily feeds, and will need the extra hands.
::: We went back to Hershey for a follow-up appointment. I don’t want to get my hopes up, so let’s just say SOMEONE who’s nickname rhymes with Toodle might have gained 9 ounces since we left there three weeks ago. That’s a BIG DEAL!
I’m off to work on some of those half-written posts. Do any of you have bunches of unpublished posts? We probably need a catch-up week to get those unpublished thoughts off the draft list and onto our blogs! I’m hoping for a flurry of posts this week now that my husband is in town. Or perhaps I’ll just sit here with my feet up and ponder “how-on-earth-am-I-going-to-get-through-four-more-weeks-of-this” pregnancy? 😉

I came by to thank you for joining my blog and I hope you will share your ideas with me about great books. I am always on the hunt! Do be careful, as I am sure your center of gravity has shifted. And I don’t want gravity to win!
