In an attempt to shake the winter doldrums (um, yes, the forecast IS showing 12-16 inches of snow coming tomorrow on the tails of our huge storm last week, thankyouverymuch), I’ve been playing with paint and terra cotta and came up with some fun ways for you to make your own beautiful spring flower pots. Spring MUST be coming eventually, right?
Guess what? If you live in the Philadelphia region, we can play with paint and flower pots together! I hope you’ll join me this Sunday anytime from 1-4 at the Michaels in Collegeville so we get create some fun Pinterest Inspired projects.
Michaels and Hometalk are teaming up for a fun event with 100 Bloggers appearing all over the country to craft with you at Michaels stores this weekend. Check this list to see if there’s a Pinterest Party near you! If you haven’t heard of Hometalk yet, it’s a wonderful website for scouting home ideas, asking questions, and finding resources. Go ahead and follow Michaels on Hometalk for your chance to win a $100 gift card!
Here’s the deal for the party this weekend:
1. Visit Michaels this Sunday from 1-4
2. While there, buy the supplies needed for the project (employees will be there to help, or check with the blogger to see what you need). Don’t forget to use your weekly coupon to save even more money!
3. Head over to the classroom or workshop area and get crafting! Staffers and the blogger will be there to help out, answer questions, or just hang out while we craft together.
4. Behold your gorgeous new piece. Love it. Display it. Cherish it forever. 🙂
There are several Pinterest inspired projects to choose from at the store. I chose to put my own spin on several ways to decorate flower pots because I truly love to create useful items for my home, plus it’s very inexpensive and easy to do. Here’s the tutorials for decorating flower pots, just in case you can’t attend on Sunday.
Wouldn’t you like to have one of these lovelies sitting in a window sill waiting with leaves wide open to welcome spring? Whenever it arrives. Which had better be soon, or else I’m taking the next flight south no matter where I may end up. 🙂
Whether you like modern gold ombre, shabby chic, or French Country, there’s a flower pot to fit your style over on the tutorial page!
Hopefully I’ll see you on Sunday at Michaels for some fun flower pot crafts! Who’s IN?

I would love to come to Collegeville to paint with you on Sunday! : ) It would be an absolute pleasure.
These pretty painted pots are perfect for Spring. Are you 100% certain Spring is coming? I am crossing my fingers. I just heard we are supposed to get even more snow on Saturday. I am not too happy about this at all. : (
Happy Valentines Day! I hope your day is filled with love.
