Is it better to post Christmas ideas now, in November, so you can get a head start on DIY projects and ideas… or better to wait until after Thanksgiving, so you can celebrate each holiday in it’s own time?
There’s a few holiday ideas up my sleeve and I’d love to hear how you feel about Christmas posts in November. Typically by December it’s too late to implement them, but there’s something special about keeping Thanksgiving as Christmas-free as possible.
Here at Casa Lemonade, my rule is “no holiday decorating until after Thanksgiving.” Which, to my husband, means November 25th this year. I did promise him we could play Christmas music the week of Thanksgiving if he’ll take that entire week off this year. Tit for tat, and all that jazz. Besides, what’s a few verses of “Jingle Bells” as I cook turkey in exchange for having my cutie-pie hubby home the whole week of Thanksgiving?
But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on my Christmas crafts and even sneaking in some shopping. My holiday Pinterest board is off to a good start as well. I’m wondering if I wait until December, I’ll be in a frenzy and unable to create the special touches of the season I so adore?
Please note that I did wait until after Halloween to post this poll. You’re welcome. 😉 Now, if I could just get retailers to do the same… yesterday we turned down the aisle of a store decked out with holiday decor and Noodle exclaimed, “CHRISTMAS!”
Guess you know her vote already.
And Bee’s vote, too.

For me, I start decorating for Christmas/Winter 😉 after Halloween, but the rule (set by my hubby) is no tree until after Thanksgiving dinner is eaten lol. Although this year, my tree will be up later (almost 5 days after Thanksgiving) as I will be back home for my high school reunion.

I like the ideas for Christmas now. Crafts, gift ideas, etc. But I don’t like to set up decorations till after Christmas (ok we already have our lights on the house because we live in Wyoming and it is dangerous and COLD here in December! ) but we won’t turn them on till after turkey day.
