Last Sunday was a beautiful day, and we spent it having a “Last Supper” before the baby is born.  We ate brunch outside at our very favorite restaurant, and enjoyed the wonderful weather while giving Noodle our full attention for what may be the last time in a loooooong time.  Sipping on freshly squeezed orange juice, taking in the sights of a beautiful spring day… it was heavenly!

Then we drove to buy samples of deck stain.  Such a buzz kill.  Sitting is getting more and more painful (not so much the sitting part, but standing AFTER sitting) so I tried my best not too look like a woman in labor as I limped around Lowes.  People are taking pity on me, though– I’ve stopped in two different bagel shops and at two different times the owner stuck a little something “extra” into the bag for me each time.  Do I look that miserable?

In a word, yes.  Check out these hilarious photos I snapped a few weeks ago while taking photos of Noodle outside!  I wanted to see what it would look like if I just aimed the camera down, and, well…

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

This one is only slightly better.  Quite frankly, what bothers me the most about it is the weeds.

Both are so bad that you can’t even see my cute new pedicure.  🙁

I forced my husband to snap a few photos on Mother’s Day to erase the damage the above pics caused on my eyeballs. Of course, now I’m traumatized by my long roots…

Two days later my hair was de-rooted and got about 4 inches shorter.  I love my hairdresser.

And since I don’t really have any other photos of my belly, here’s one I took accidentally while photographing Noodle playing on the deck:

She was having fun with her reflection in the glass.  So was I.

Yes, it’s about that time.  I head to the hospital this weekend for my c-section.  I’m nervous and excited at the same time.  Noodle’s delivery was so traumatic that I’m not going to feel 100% certain that we are actually having a baby until he is in my arms. I hear this is normal in our situation, but still… it’s unsettling.  Thankfully my surgery is the first one of the day so I won’t have to worry all day about it.  That’s what nights are for… I’m pretty sure I won’t sleep a wink thinking about it!

I’ve set up a few scheduled posts while I’m out, so I hope you won’t forget me while I’m on the mend.  Of course I’ll update the blog when (if?) we welcome the little guy.  It still feels so unreal!  I’ll continue to read comments and respond when I can.  Rumor has it that those first days in the hospital may be the only free time I’ll have before baby boy goes to kindergarten.

I’m still looking for a few guest bloggers, so let me know if you are interested!  And quickly… I’ll have my hands full in just a few days.  😉
