First of all, thank you for your great comments (and tweets and Facebook shares) about my sequined pumpkins. It meant more than you know. I’m waiting on pins and needles to see YOUR spin on them, I know they’ll be amazing! Perhaps a few will make an appearance on this week’s Refresh My Nest linky party?!
Here’s where I tell you what I did to Refresh My Nest this week. I’m quite literally in the middle of 9 projects, but of course only finished two. Besides bedazzling pumpkins, I did manage to work on transitioning our home from summer to fall. After taking down the rest of the summer decorations…
… I started in on the closets– specifically, my husband’s section of the closet. That deserves an entire post of it’s own (sorry honey), but I thought I’d share this simple idea that helped solve a problem of ours. We didn’t have a good spot for our dry cleaning pile, which meant more trips to the dry cleaner than needed, or me going through piles of his clothing at inopportune times {when I was running out the door chasing two kids, for example}.
What our closet needed was a “clutter catcher” for our dry cleaning. It was a simple matter of typing the words “dry cleaning”, printing onto transfer paper (using the ‘iron transfer’ setting so the words were reversed), and ironing it onto one of the millions of totes we seem to have hanging around.
The only thing I wish I’d done differently was take more time cutting out the words. I didn’t realize the transparent iron-on would show. Ooops.
Add a Command hook, and woo-hoo, a can’t-miss-spot for gathering our unmentionables. Er, our unlaunderables. Or whatever they are called. Basically, the things I refuse to wash or iron. 😉
My poor husband. I refuse to iron (his) shirts, but spent 30 minutes ironing a pile of fabric. Meet projects number 4, 7, and 8. I’m hoping you’ll get to be fully introduced soon.
YOUR TURN! Time to link up a post about a project, holiday decor, recipe, organizing idea, accomplishment, “a-ha moment”, handy tip, craft, whatever you feel refreshes your nest.
And since it’s the first one, any tweets or publicity you can give my little party would mean so much. I promise to return the favor!
1. Link to the specific post that fits our theme, not just your blog’s home page.
2. Including a link back to this party at the end of your post allows others to play along or scout out inspiration for themselves. You would be even more amazing if you posted the Refresh My Nest button– I’ve even made it super easy, just grab the code below the button!
3. An active linky is a happy linky. PLEASE visit one or more links that interest you so that everyone gets some comments and traffic. There’s nothing more discouraging than taking time to link up and no one visits.

My hubby just got finished complaining that I didn’t iron his shirts today. I washed and organized all his fall/winter clothes but I didn’t iron. Ha! I’m amazed at how long it takes to prep the house for a season change.
Love your dry cleaning bag. Each of us has a bag like that in our mudroom for winter accessories {I’ll have to blog about it}. Congrats on your new party. I’m sure it’ll be a success!

Hi Carrie – thanks for inviting me to your party. I linked up some posts and I wish you huge success with your new party. I am currently working on a “Master Linky Party List” and I’m going to add your party to it. (I have over 130 parties so far.) I’m following you now too 🙂 Can’t wait for more inspiration from you. Thanks for visiting Mom On Timeout 🙂

I love the little peek of that fabric. It is very cool! I could make Little Bit some neat things with it. Cant wait to see what crafty thing it’s going to become.

Nuts, I don’t really have anything to contribute. This past week has kind of been a wash for me!
