Our bathroom faucet has been broken for months. I’m not quite sure what happened—one day it worked perfectly well, and the next it was snapped off with a guilty looking 2-year-old standing next to it saying the cat must have broken it. Naughty cat. Yet it was still usable, so we had a little time to research what we wanted to put in before it became a ‘must’. With two little kids and an area which receives high doses of wear and tear, we needed something that’s durable and practical yet fits with my home décor style.
Speaking of style, my design aesthetic is ‘modern vintage’. Talk about an oxymoron, right?! But I love classic styling without too much frill, so I think that phrase describes the style I gravitate towards. Thankfully Moen has many styles that fit that category, and with Spot Resist finish to repel fingerprints and water spots so my cleaning time gets cut significantly. Kinda a big deal to this tired mama.
I scoped out a few favorites at Lowes that fit my design aesthetic, and the Boardwalk Spot Resist bath faucet has an art deco vibe:
Moen faucets also meet WaterSense criteria by using up to 32% less water without sacrificing performance. That’s truly important to this eco-conscious household. Especially when the youngest members love to run the faucet and play with boats in the sink. Ahem.
Okay. So now who’s going to come over and help me install it? It seems daunting but as I learned from my last experience with a Moen faucet, they’ll work with you until you get it right– even if it’s MacGuyver style. I'm excited to try my hand at installing it myself, most likely my husband will be standing next to me with a qualified plumber on speed dial. {wink}
Follow Moen on Facebook and Twitter for updates and to see more photos of their beautiful products and ideas. Anyone have advice for faucet installation? Any recent bathroom renovations to share?

I leave the faucets to my dh. We’re finally finishing the molding in our bathrooms renovation from about 6 years ago. Yeah!

All of our faucets could use an upgrade, particularly in the kitchen. My dad gave us this itty bitty faucet for our huge kitchen sink as a house warming present… and of course, I felt bad and installed it anyway… and it’s been a PAIN ever since… ha ha ha — now you’ve got me thinking about finally replacing it.

Hey! I’ve actually used the phrase “modern vintage” to describe our bathroom remodel! Choosing bath and kitchen fixtures should be fun… but I always end up feeling overwhelmed! I think I looked at EVERY faucet on the internet… which was pretty exhausting!
Love the one you chose! Like sink-jewelry!
