It’s full-on spring fling around here. Typically my seasonal depression rears it’s ugly head right about now, but due to the warm temps and flowers bursting forth I’m on cloud nine.
The whole global warming thing does put a damper on that, but for now I’m going to turn a blind eye and pretend 80 degree days are normal for March in Pennsylvania.
How was your weekend? Ours was action packed. First up, Sesame Street Live with Noodle. We took the 9AM train into the city for it, and would you believe the train was packed with people already starting St. Patty’s Day festivities? I’m getting old because that seems a wee bit early. I told Noodle she was NOT allowed to dress like a slutty leprechaun when she reaches college age but she was too dazzled by the parade of tank tops, shiny necklaces, and shamrock headbands to listen to me.
I am SO not ready for the teen years. And don’t worry, I didn’t really use the words “slutty leprechaun” in front of my three year old. But I was thinking it.
After the show (whew, all that Sesame is a bit tough to take at 10:30 AM) I headed to the Face 2 Face Philly event sponsored by Therapon Skin Health. Free facials, manicures, and make-up applications? Sometimes it’s good to be a blogger. It takes A LOT for me to show my face on my own blog {especially looking all lopsided, what’s up with my pose?} but I’m working on it. Ulta did a great job choosing colors and giving me the casual make-up look I’ve longed for!
Many, many thanks to Jo-Lynne from Musings of a Housewife, Therapon, and Ulta Beauty for making me feel pampered for a day. (trust me, I don’t have to say this but I’m VERY impressed with the Therapon line. Might make for a good giveaway soon… hmmm…) Doesn’t this look like a fun crowd to hang out with?! It was.
After getting pampered it was back to {happy} reality– a trip to Lowes and Target! Sadly, I think that’s fun. My husband decided it was time to replace our smashed deck table from the freak Snowtober storm. Remember this lovely sight?
Sniff, sniff. We lost the table, umbrella, umbrella stand, and rug in one fell swoop. Pour a lavender martini for my homies…
Well, my fragile heart is healing because we picked up this beauty at Lowes (it’s bigger than it looks):
Oh, and… maybe a few things at Target as well. Like the umbrella on the right. Such a pretty shade of blue. It was a good price for 9 foot Smith & Hawken Umbrella (on sale!) so we just went for it.
Didn’t get this rug, but loved it regardless:
Woah, over $100 for an outdoor ENDTABLE?
Feeling pretty good about my $5 thrift store faux bamboo end table from last year right about now!
Here’s the reason I didn’t get the trellis patterned rug at Tar-jay. Meet my new lovely outdoor rug, purchased two weeks ago from Joss and Main (for well under $100, yay):
Who would have thought we’d be setting up our deck furniture in March?! Not I. But *someone* is ready.
And *someone else* is going to hate me in about 10 years. But how could I not post a photo of Bee wearing his sister’s sunglasses?
I adore this crew, and spring flings. And YOU.
Sure, previous St. Patty’s Days involved tank tops and lots o’ beer. But truthfully? This had to be one of my most favorite ones. Except maybe this one twelve years ago:
What did you do this weekend? Are you spring-flinging with us on the east coast too?
