You know “the list”. The one you make before you leave for the hospital to have your little one. A list of phone numbers of loved ones that you MUST call to share the good news! In this day and age, though, it’s been years since I’ve gotten “the call”. Now I just get “the text” or “the email”. Which is fine, but I do miss hearing the voice of the excited new mommy or daddy! But who has time to make all those calls when they want to spend those precious first hours with their newborn baby?
Enter Baby’s First Phone Call. Baby’s First Phone Call is an automated call tree that allows new parents to notify friends and family of the arrival of their bundle of joy without the hassle of making dozens of individual phone calls, or leaving some friends and family to find out second- or third-hand. {NOTE: this has happened in our extended family… let’s just say it didn’t end well…}
With Baby’s First Phone Call, the expectant parents set up an account before the baby is born and enter the names and phone numbers of all the people they want to notify when the baby arrives. Then, after the baby is born, they make a single phone call and leave a personal voice-mail message of any length with all the details they want to share – such as hospital, room number, and whether or not the parents would like to receive visitors.
Our system places calls to each of the phone numbers in the account. If the person answers the phone they hear the happy message. If they don’t answer, the message is left on their voicemail or answering machine. In either case, there is an option for them to leave a return message that the new parent can pick up at their convenience!
Doesn’t that sound easy? It is! Packages come in various amounts of numbers you can enter, and gift certificates are available (what a unique shower gift)! But you can win 1 of 2 $50 gift certificates NOW on Making Lemonade {and 2 more will be offered later, along with a review, when Baby Lemonade arrives in May).
