Now that you’ve got Kenny Rogers in your head, please be kind when I share this little secret:
Yes, it’s true. It’s one of the ways I keep myself sane. It all began when I was working full time and commuting two hours a day. There was no way I could do that and keep my house in good shape, so with two salaries it was a no-brainer. Truly, I planned to quit once the baby was born and I was home full time… until our world fell apart, and I had no time to sleep let alone keep the house clean.
Now with two kids, it’s become one of the best ways I’ve managed my time. It would take me 10 hours to get the house as clean as the pros do, plus I’d be giving up precious free time with my family. I easily save the amount it costs simply by clipping coupons in front of the t.v. at night and cutting $20 off our grocery bill each week.
Molly Maids are a national maid service, and boy are they in the mood to give! They are basically handing you $20 by sharing this quick video tip on cleaning your shower curtain liner with little to no effort instead of forking out the cash to buy a new one:
See? Now you are even closer to saving money toward a good house cleaning, just by that simple trick. Other great tips include how to clean your stained coffee pot and how to get your kitchen sink to sparkle.
Getting my house cleaned once a month is one way I take care of myself, and in turn, my family. Want to take care of yourself, too? Molly Maid is sponsoring a $50 ‘Take Care of You’ gift pack for one lucky winner that includes a pumice scrub, nail file, microfiber cleaner, etc.!

To clean windows, wipe in one direction on the inside and the other direction on the outside. It helps you see which side you might have missed the spot.

I clean chalkboards with Magic Erasers…they get rid of all the dust and make the board look brand new!
Cynthia Lee says
pouring a can of Coke in the toilet bowl and leaving it there overnight will help get rid of that yucky ring in there.

I use magic erasers for my woodwork and my white cabinets, my painted doors, in fact it’s almost safe to say I use magic erasers for everything (well not quite, there’s things I use scrubbing bubbles for) anyone else love those foaming bathroom cleaners? Fell in love w/them years ago when we got fiberglass showers but find they work just as well on tile as well.

Nancy, I love the foaming cleaners but I REALLY love a certain brand’s cream for the tub ring. My cleaning tip is peroxide to clean a mirror or glass. It’s even better than vinegar water.

I use vinegar in my dishwasher to try to keep my dishes cleaner (we have terribly hard water). Still trying to find something to clean my shower doors though!

Wait to put all the kids toys away until the end of the day, otherwise you’ll spend all day picking them up (over and over again!).

I use an equal mix of Dawn dish soap and warm vinegar mixed in a spray bottle to clean my tub and shower. It’s amazing how sparkling clean it looks after rinsing!

Take care of your things and they will take care of you. If you want your things to last and be accessible when you need them then you need to orgnaize them and make sure they are taken care of properly. You spend money on these things, its good to take care of them and not leave them somewhere to potentionally get ruined or destroyed.

I have a rubber mat in the bathtub to protect the kiddies from slipping during bath time, but it gets pretty yucky after a few weeks. I flip it upside down, splash in a little bleach and add enough hot water to cover the mat. An hour later it rinses perfectly clean!

I never leave a room without taking someone with me that belongs in another one. That little step keeps clutter from growing.
