Do you feel it? That first hint of chill in the air? I actually shivered while sitting by the pool the other night, and it’s been a long time since I shivered here in North Carolina! Fall is coming, and it will be interesting to see how fall here compares to what we experienced in PA. I’m guessing I’ll still need tall boots and sweaters, but maybe not a heavy coat on top of it all! With that in mind, I’ve been thinking about transitional outfits for later summer and early fall. Pieces that work on warm days and chilly nights, ones I won’t sweat through (ew) when it’s sunny but won’t freeze my buns in when the temp dips suddenly.
One thing I’ve noticed since moving to the south are the abundance of independent boutiques and I’m LOVING it. Instead of (or in addition to, I should say) the same huge name brand retail stores, I’ve found adorable boutiques filled with unique clothing and personal service. At the Haven Conference this year I was introduced to the boutique Glamour Farms by my gorgeous (inside and out) friend Cyndi and I’m enamored by their fashion forward pieces at a price point that can’t be beat. Glamour Farms is family owned and totally hands-on; and when I say family owned, I got to meet several generations of the family– mamas, grandmas, daughters, sisters!
I’ve partnered with Glamour Farms to share an outfit to take you from summer to fall (and spring to summer, too). Stephanie styled it and boy does she know her stuff, getting the sizing just right!
First and foremost, ladies, let’s talk about this Ahh-mazing Shaper. My food baby is showing after a few months of eating out and eating badly on vacation, so this piece is my best friend. It’s like a hug around your body and makes everything look better, especially with all those sheer styles nowadays. It smooths things out and gives a polished foundation to make you look extra confident. This is THE most popular product Glamour Farms sells and it’s easy to see why!
I’m wearing it under this top and it’s SO soft, light, and like a second skin. FYI, one size fits all so no sizing worries!
Here’s where the transitional part comes into play. My summer ‘uniform’ is white jeans and a tank, so to take that look into fall I went with darker jeans and this BTQ Lady Sophia Top that works for both summer and fall. And spring, if you think about it. As you know from my KonMari journey, I am very choosy about what goes into my closet so I love pieces that work for several seasons. Tanks work well because you can layer it under an open cardigan, cargo jacket, or poncho. This top is on SUPER sale right now, too!
Can we just talk about these skinny jeans?! Y’all, they are SO SOFT and amazing. They feel like yoga pants but look chic and flattering. When the stylist handed them to me I wasn’t sure they would fit (they look SKINNY!), but sure enough, they stretch right out and fit beautifully. Don’t fear the skinny jean, friends. They’re wonderful for fall because they work with sandals or flats in summer then booties or tall boots when cooler weather arrives.
While this next item isn’t available online, I purchased it myself from their collection because you know how much I love a good poncho. They do have a rust poncho available if that’s a color you like to wear. Glamour Farms has a selection of gorgeous open cardigans as well; truly, too many favorites to feature!
I have two pairs of shoes from my own closet that I styled with this outfit and BOTH are in heavy rotation right now. This pair of leopard flats is the perfect neutral and these are the most comfortable shoes EVER and worth every penny! I also adore the peep toed sandals but can’t find them online, try these very similar peep toed shoes instead to elongate your legs and give a stylish twist to fall outfits.

OUTFIT DETAILS
Elizabeth Skinny Jeans (dark wash) (size 7, usually I’m a size 6 but these fit great and weren’t too tight)

Ahhh-mazing Shaper (one size fits all)
Cardigans and Layers (not pictured, but they are perfect for fall)
peep toed shoes (similar)
monogram necklace (similar)
Basic pieces that can swing several seasons (such as tanks, flats, booties and great jeans) can go a LOOOONG way in stretching your budget. What do you think, does this seem like a great transitional outfit for a southern fall?
