Okay, so it’s Thursday but I’m still feeling under the weather so let’s pretend it’s Wednesday and that I’m not late with this post. 🙂 Usually I like to spotlight websites that save you money, but this week I thought I’d just share some loveliness.
The website Craft Hope spotlights one project every few months. If you are crafty, or even if you aren’t crafty but would like to be, you can share your talent by completing the project and donating it to the website. The last project they completed was sock monkeys, and they received 101 of them to be given to children at a preschool burn camp. Imagine the smiles these monkeys will bring to those kids!
The current project is take-along quilts to be donated to every homeless child in the Grand Rapids school system this Christmas. A little bit of hope and warmth that they can call their own. So if you are able, go ahead and get crafting! The children will appreciate the quilts more than you could know. And you can put your skills to good use and try something new!
If you’ve kept up with my blog for awhile, you know that my daughter was in the NICU for her first 2 months of life. During the darkest days, we had hope because of small random acts of kindness. One of the things that brightened those dark days were the quilts we put under Noodle as she lay in her warmer. Even before she was born, various friends had made quilts that we loved. After she was born, we used them to make up her “bed”, so they would be under her keeping her warm. The bright colors were surpassed only by the message of love they brought to us.
So a little thing can make a big difference. I smile now as I tuck her into bed with that blanket, and those birdies watch over her from her nursery shelf. And just so you don’t worry, this is our little Noodle today:
Isn’t God amazing?
