Okay, so I only posted two craft projects this week but that’s TWO MORE than the previous week. The funny part is that I used to make things all the time, but apparently my energy went toward taking care of my daughter and NOT fabric and scissors. Now that the exhaustion is lifting a bit I’ve let two years of pent-up crafting come to the surface. I finished two additional projects this week and started three more. My craft area is a disaster! Expect a few tutorials in the near future…
Sunday: Offered a holiday gift planner to keep you organized and avoid overspending.
Monday: Quick tip in my new “Simply Organzied” series for those who recieve collectible gifts and might need a reminder each year about who they are from. Additionally, if you read this blog you know I’m addicted to Clementines. I showed some projects that reuse Clementine boxes in another new feature, “Really Resuable”!
Tuesday: GREAT giveaway going on right now. The prize is your choice of a product (up to $39 in value) from Danielson Designs! They carry personalized frames, signs, and monograms. They are so cute and the comments I’ve gotten are overwhelmingly positive. Lots of holiday stuff on the website, too! Making Lemonade readers get $10 off any purchase in the time the giveaway runs. Enter here!
I also celebrated SITSmas with my SITS-tahs!
Wednesday: Need a gift idea for a child or teen in your life? This one is tray-chic, and SUPER EASY!
I mentioned last week that I had a super-big personal announcement, and I do– I just didn’t have time to write about it. I hope to have time this weekend to share this news!
As for the coming week, I have about 20 posts written in my head but I’m not sure which will get published. Here are the ones that are half-written, so expect most to appear at some point:
- a super-cute holiday onesie tutorial to show you
- a new holiday tradition to share (with tutorial)
- our holiday decorations {just WHAT did I do with that weird yet wonderful feathered wreath?}
- inspiration boards for wreaths, mantels, AND advent calendars
- Should you open that store credit card? NO, and here’s why!
- I’m throwing a wrapping/cookie exchange party for my friends, so I have some ideas to share if you wish to do the same
- Peppermint Pinwheels, Church Windows, Raspberry Thumbprints, and Oatmeal Lace. Cookies, that is. Don’t you want to know how to make them? So do I. I’m on my second try with the peppermint pinwheels!
Does anyone have any elves to share? I still need to finish the decorations, take the holiday photo of Noodle, finish buying gifts AND ship them, plus all of the above. And clean and do laundry. Oh, and raise the Noodle. Yes, elves. I need elves. 😉
{I’m actually blissfully stress-free despite the huge to-do list, because to me it’s all icing on the cake! I love the holidays!}

Stopped in and realized you are my twin :o)
I was crafty – pre kids.
I always have a list of 20+ posts written in my head only.
I have a million things to do before Christmas and don’t have any elves!
So, you managed, with one post, to grab me as a new follower.
I look forward to reading through your blog.
Kari :o)

I love your Blog and soooo love crafting! I dabble in quite a bit. I love making new ornaments every year! I have so many that we do. But one that is beautiful and very easy is to get the clear glass ball ornaments from any craft store and some paints (I love the pearlized paints that are in the wall stencil section of craft stores. You take the hanger portion off, squeeze in paint and if ya want you can use a bit of thinner so it “moves around” easier… coat the inside of the ornament, you can even swirl colors, then put them upside down on egg cartons over night so the excess can run out. The next day the ornaments are beautiful! I always add a beautiful and coordinating ribbon at the hanger and put on the tree! i also make my own beaded hangers for them! These are great because I let my kids help (we are careful because they are glass and take the hangers out and in myself)- They are more beautiful than store bought and you can even add glitter and angel dust to “spice” them up!
You can also make some old fashioned type ornies by getting the styrofoam balls and coating them w/ Hodge podge glue and taking dried beans and placing them in rows all around the ornament and then slathering w/ a brush more hodge podge and let it dry.. then add a tassle to the bottom w/ a stick pin and a bit of glue and a coordinating ribbon at the top w/ the hanger. These can also be done as those ornamental balls that just sit in a vase! Love it! i will keep checking your crafty section!
