Popping in to say hello and let you know we are still here. Taking a short hiatus was one of the best blogging decisions I’ve made in awhile (and, admittedly, hope to extend it a few more days until the big ol’ blogoversary begins…) I’ve been able to actually DO things, not just read about others doing them. What’s been keeping me busy? Here’s taste of what we’ve been up to:
::: had the mother of all garage sales, and got rid of a large portion of clutter living in my basement
::: had lots of guests over, for dinner, brunch, lunch, and everything in between. I figured out some things about easy entertaining and can’t wait to share them with you. One gathering this week included 7 adults and 12 kiddos. It was a beautiful thing!
::: started the Couch to 5K running program, thanks to an app on my iPhone. I’m on week three, and this program rocks!
::: instead of selling a hutch I had in the garage sale pile, I painted it and now have the answer to all my kitchen storage issues! Photos coming soon, I promise.
::: took a nap. A loooooooong one!
::: recovered my my husband’s busy travel schedule, just in time for him to jet off to India for a week. FOR REAL. Plus two more week-long trips this fall. Yes, I’m terrified about how to handle two babies without a husband here to help!
::: worked up a nice, juicy editorial calendar for September. I’ve happily scheduled a slew of fantastic giveaways for the Blogoversary Extravaganza, plus a few more special surprises.
::: been partnering with Erin from Designer Blogs for my blog makeover. We’re in the middle of it now. So exciting!
::: said goodbye to our summer babysitter, who went back to school. Oh my, we are going to miss her!
::: had my share of bellinis and mojitos, the perfect summer drinks
::: tamed the clutter monster, and put said clutter in the yard sale
::: had our own version of movie night, on the deck with two baby monitors:
::: even got a little bit of sun. My dermatologist would be proud!
::: maybe took a few too many photos. Noodle is getting a bit annoyed.
There’s still so much to do, not the least of which is enjoy these last few days of summer with my kiddos. I’ve scheduled a few posts that will pop up here and there, and of course will read all your wonderful comments… but don’t expect a steady stream of posts until September 1st. That’s when I’m putting away the suntan lotion and getting back down to our regularly scheduled blogging sessions.
How are you spending your last summer moments before autumn sets in?
