Looking for gift ideas for the women on your Christmas gift list? We’ve found the best gifts for moms, sisters, friends, mother-in-laws, teachers, grandmothers, and more. These ‘cozy at home’ Christmas gift ideas will WOW all the ladies on your gift list this year!
Find more great gift ideas in our Mother’s Day gift guide or for something handmade, make her a soothing winter hand scrub or these popular leather diffuser earrings.
I’m getting the gift guides up earlier than usual because the current pandemic situation means businesses need more lead time for orders and there’s the potential for massive shipping delays. This also allows time for budgeting and snagging Black Friday deals since those are starting earlier as well.
Honestly items keep going out of stock as I write this, so it looks like everyone is getting a jump on gift buying this year!
I’m a planner by nature so getting my Christmas shopping done early appeals to me, and this year it’s a must. Come along, join me in the early shopping club and let’s get those gifts checked off your to-do list!
Our Gift Guide Guidelines
As in all our previous years, I only share ideas that check the following boxes:
- they’re highly rated
- it’s something I already own it or it’s on my personal wish list
- it’s practical as well as beautiful
- appeals to a wide-range of people on your gifting list
- fits a variety of price points from budget-friendly to a few splurges
This year, I’m adding another ‘must’– the gift is something that will make spending more time at home or socially distance gatherings more enjoyable. Because I love you and want you to stay healthy, that’s why. 😉
Also, it should be noted that just because this list says ‘gifts for women’ doesn’t mean guys won’t love these ideas too. We all have unique personalities and I LOVE that there might be items on this list for the guys in your life as well (and vice versa when I publish them ‘gifts for guys’ gift guide later.) Happy gifting, my friend!
Best Gift Ideas for Women
Newbury Picnic Basket– what a fun way to enjoy a beautiful day outdoors by taking a picnic loaded with goodies to a favorite spot. This will be used for decades.
Kindle Paperwhite– I’m a former school librarian and hated the idea of not reading paper books. When my husband gifted me a Kindle for Mother’s Day I begrudgingly used it, and fell instantly head over heels for how easy it made reading. Plus, he got me the water resistant version which means I can read it in the bathtub or on the beach.
SIDE NOTE: the Kindle automatically advertises books when you open it up, the photo above doesn’t reflect my current reading! Not that it matters if it did, but just thought I’d put it out there, ha!
Wall mount wine rack– I’m not saying you SHOULD drink more because of 2020, but just in case you are going through your wine stash at a faster rate than usual this gorgeous wine rack is a work of art. Leaning into 2020, y’all.
Essential oil diffuser– if there’s a better time to use essential oils, I don’t know what it is. Between the benefits of aromatherapy and the wellness boosting nature of essential oils, we have diffusers all over our home and love them dearly.
Portable workout ballet barre– I purchased this during quarantine and love it! It’s a portable workout barre, and it’s sturdy enough to use resistance bands and holds a lot of weight (trust me, the quaran-nineteen is real.) You can store weights on the rack and use your iPhone or iPad to play workouts to follow. Then it folds and rolls away when not in use. Great for those who want to do barre but don’t have a lot of space!
Electric water kettle– my neighbors who are from the UK were horrified when I heated water up IN THE MICROWAVE for a cup of tea. This electric kettle is a great way to heat water sans microwave, and I wish I’d had one in college for not just tea but for ramen too. It’s pretty enough to keep in my office for easy tea making!
Apple Watch– another thing I didn’t think I needed until I had it and now I’m in love. It has a built-in gyroscope and you can program it so if you fall it’ll call 911 if you don’t respond. I have accidentally tested this feature and can tell you it works– thankfully I was able to hit the button to stop it calling 911 after a particularly hard tumble in my driveway (I’m seriously the MOST clumsy person you will ever meet.) In addition to helping clumsy/ elderly people like myself it also tracks steps, workouts and so much more.
Enameled cast iron dutch oven– another great gift for the home cook, this cast iron dutch iron is as useful as it is beautiful! I’d love to get this under the tree this year (hint, hint dear hubby!)
Silk sleep set– This silk sleep set will be appreciated by just about everyone. With a silk pillowcase for keeping hair damage free, to a silk scrunchie and eye mask, this set is like a hug for someone you love.
Initial necklace– I’ve always been obsessed with initial necklaces. No lie, I have 5 of them in different shapes including this one. It’s solid and beautiful and so eye-catching too!
UV light sanitizing wand– If one gift sums up 2020, it’s this one. This UV light sanitizing wand might not be sexy, but it’s super useful! Phones are one of the dirtiest things in your home and not nearly as easy to wash as your hands and face mask.
Live edge wood bath caddy– Bath lovers will adore a bath caddy for holding a beverage, washcloth, and bath bubbles too.
Jonathan Adler special edition Keurig– this mini Keurig is just so… ADORABLE! Fashion forward friends will adore this.
Personally, we use the Nespresso and I’ve gotten into making the most delicious lattes using Oat Milk in the frother, so if your budget is a bit bigger that’s another fabulous idea for coffee drinkers.
Instant Pot– I’ve fallen head over heels for my Instant Pot! If you have someone on your list who loves to cook (or is a busy parent without much free time), this will be a huge hit.
Phone dock and planter– Plants are the real MVP of 2020, and this combines a practical function with a plant which is like my dream come true.
Cursive name rings– I’ve been supporting small businesses like crazy this year, and here’s one of my favorites! I ordered these rings with my kids names as a gift for myself, and can’t wait until they arrive.
Mario Badescu toner– This facial toner is such a treat. It’s cooling on your face and makes my skin feel so fresh. I know I’m a nerd but I look forward to using it every day!
Fleece running gloves– With gyms out of the question for me right now, I’ve done all my workouts in my home or outside. I detest cold weather but I think these fleece lined gloves will help me through the worst winter months. The practical side of my loves that they clip together and also have two fingers adapted to work with smartphones.
Basil grow kit– Gardening brought me such joy this year, and grow kits such as this one can bring the experience indoors during the winter months. This is a great gift for those who love to cook, make fancy cocktails, or love plants!
Cozy robe– I could snuggle in this robe and not wake up until 2021, thankyouverymuch.
Vestige lipstick holder– This lipstick rack also fits essential oil roller bottles for a gorgeous storage solution for the essential oil lovers on your list.
Gray Barefoot Dreams cozy cardigan– again, cozy reigns supreme this year. Give me ALLLLLL the cardigans, robes, and blankets! This open cardigan on Amazon is much less expensive than the Barefoot Dreams and has good reviews.
Reusable make up eraser– does exactly what the name says! I actually have several because I use it so frequently. There’s also these makeup remover pads that are pretty AND come in a pack of 10.
Tory Burch crossbody purse– a higher-end gift for sure, but the receiver will adore it! I’ve personally started carrying a small crossbody and love it so much because it’s practical, light, and totally on-trend.
UGG slipper socks– I purchased these for myself during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and do not regret a thing. 🙂
Personalized pet portrait– have a pet lover on your list? Want to make them melt? BINGO!
Laptop sleeve– Perfect for the ‘feeling cute, might Zoom later’ generation.
Pom beanie– this one is fleece lined and perfect for lookin’ cute in cold weather.
Faux fur slippers– slide-on slippers are all the rage. This pair looks extra cozy.
TRX workout set– Perfect for home workouts, TRX straps attach to brackets and allow for weight training just about anywhere. We had these at the gym where I used to belong and I used them weekly.
Polaroid pocket printer– Know someone who takes a ton of photos but never prints them out? (Like, just about everyone.) This is a great solution.
Copper bird feeder– this is a fun gift for nature lovers or people who can’t leave their home. My kids have had so much fun watching nature and wildlife and this brings it right outside your window.
Owl Reach Owl Box– have a nature-lover on your list? Owl boxes from Owl Reach are an awesome gift for anyone who has a yard. Just wait until baby owlets start peeking out, it’s the best feeling in the world!
Packable Jewelry Organizer– these little jewelry organizing cubes are chic and perfect for packing up jewelry for trips or even in your home. This is at the top of my wish list this year!
I know this has been a tough year, and I hope this gift guide gives you ideas for gifts to give OR receive that will make this winter a bit ‘cozier at home.’
