Kitchen Renovation Source List {Budget Friendly Kitchen Remodel}

Since the post about our budget-friendly kitchen renovation was getting long (let’s face it, I’m a wordy girl who loves to share photos), I created a separate source list to help answer questions about the materials we used. From the hardwood floors to wall color to exact paint we used for the cabinets, here’s what we used to keep our remodel under budget and perfectly lined up with our family-friendly style. I skipped the kitchen cart and open shelving for now because I need to snap some better pics for you, but as soon as that’s ready I’ll add it to the list over here, promise!
Budget Kitchen Renovation Source List
Kitchen Cabinet Paint: Sherwin Williams Cashmere paint in Greek Villa (Medium Lustre)
I wanted a ‘true white’ as opposed to a creamy white in our kitchen which gives it a modern feel, and Greek Villa really fit the bit. I’m sure a cream or ivory would have been nice as well but I didn’t want it to read too yellow in this particular space. The luster wipes off perfectly, and after two years it still looks like the cabinets were just painted!
Wall Paint: We color matched Wood Smoke with a Sherwin Williams paint. I also used this color in our downstairs hallway I love it so much!
Kitchen Table: Taylor Pedestal Table from Horchow (for discounts: go through Ebates to see if you can earn cash back, and also sign up for the Horchow emails and use that coupon code)
Oh how I love this table! It’s exapandable, and we’ve kept it at it’s larger size since it arrived. If we want to change it back into a circle it’s super easy because the leaf folds back into the table. It was a splurge but as my friend Darlene says, “Buy what you love and you’ll only cry once.”
Rug: Salina Outdoor Rug in Gray/Bone from One Kings Lane
Not only are outdoor rugs perfect for the kitchen because they clean up really well, but this 8X10 was a steal compared to what most rugs that size would cost!
Countertops: Black Pearl Granite
Each slab differs so check with your granite source before ordering! Many people asked what type of granite I wish I’d chosen since I mentioned that in hindsight I would have gotten a different pattern, and the answer is that I wish I’d gotten a lighter color with larger grains or more veins (like this one or this one).
Hardwood Floors: Somerville Dark Chocolate Maple 5″
Lighting: Home Decorator’s Collection Harper Instant Pendant Light
This light fixture plugs right into existing recessed lighting so it’s a great way to updated those old lights!
White Chairs: Threshold Carey Chairs from Target (I used the ones from our HGTV makeover, so they were free!)
Red/Orange Chairs: TRENDIG from IKEA
There you have it– my sources for our budget friendly kitchen renovation. We were able to stay on budget by mixing high and lower-end materials, careful planning, and both hiring out and doing some things ourselves. For example, I stained the quarter round trim and kickplates for the flooring which saved us a bundle in custom trim. The table may have been on the splurge side of the spectrum, but our chairs were about $100 total because we used what we had or got them at IKEA. Hope that helps get you started on your own custom kitchen renovation, let me know if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to answer them!
