Hello, friends! Well, I had a lot to post this week but nothing felt appropriate with millions of us on the southeastern coast preparing for Hurricane Florence to arrive. I honestly can’t focus on organizing and cleaning hacks right now or share our porch addition with the hurricane looming, but family game night ideas felt just right. With fall approaching (and most likely power outages around here), board games are a screen-free way to connect with family and friends– and it was fun to round-up a few of our favorites!

Our most recent discovery was Catan Jr.; it took about 15 minutes to get the directions down but once we did it quickly became our new family favorite. I love tucking card games like Uno into my handbag when we go out to eat; no complaining or resorting to screens while we wait for our food. And we’ve had some fierce games of Monopoly with my little 8-year-old tycoon, he’s getting alarmingly good.

There’s board games here for young kids all the way up to game nights with friends (Pandemic, I’m looking at you!) Let us know your favorites in the comments, we’re always looking for fun board games to enjoy!

If you’re in Florence’s path, please stay safe. North Carolina is going to get quite a hit but I’m thankful to be part of a great community here. I’m praying hard for everyone impacted. And if the power goes out, we’ll be pulling out a few of these favorites to enjoy by the glow of the flashlight. 🙂
