Happy Monday! This summer is zooming past faster than you can say ‘sunscreen’. If you have a few more weeks left before you go back-to-school then you may be looking for easy kids crafts, games and activities to fill these last few “lazy” days. Like our Kids Craft Camp week last year, I’ve once again compiled our favorite kids craft projects and products to share this week. It’s a virtual kids craft camp– all the fun, minus the bug bites.
If you’re already heading back to school then don’t count yourself out! Be sure to pin these projects for upcoming school vacations, next summer, or as gift ideas. Don’t feel left out– we’ll save some virtual S’mores for you. And before you know it, it’ll be time for summer fun once again.
To kick off this year’s Kids Arts and Crafts Camp Week, I’ve partnered with my hero Martha Stewart to showcase her new book: Martha Stewart’s Favorite Crafts For Kids (<— affiliate link alert). I was lucky enough to receive a copy for review, and I’m not lying when I tell you my daughter paged through it for HOURS before I could even get my hands on it myself.
There’s a reason it’s the #1 book on Amazon for Kids’ Crafts… it’s full of fabulous ideas for kids craft ideas, activities, and games. Better yet, these easy crafts are as simple as can be and can be made using materials you probably already have on hand. Here’s a sneak peek at a few of my favorites:
DIY Felt Flower Barrettes
Travel Tins for Preserving Vacation Memories {LOVE this idea!}
Button Frames
Plus some homemade games for kids using simple materials:
Beach Checkers Game
Rock Dominoes Game
Carpet Tile Hopscotch {isn’t this brilliant? use carpet tiles from Habitat ReStore or see if they have extras at local carpet shops}
Plus holiday ideas galore. Snowman candy bars, using inked fingerprints. So simple yet pretty!
The book contains an index of common kids craft supplies, templates, and an index. They’ve thought of everything.
You’ll find tons of homemade gift ideas, too:
Hand Embellished Handkerchiefs
Iron-On Transfer Totes
I’d show you more of my favorites but this post would be impossibly long. Trust me, this book is kids arts and crafts GOLD. I’ve pretty much bookmarked the entire thing.
Want to win a copy of your own? Use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter, one lucky winner will receive a copy of Martha Stewart’s Favorite Crafts for Kids of their very own.
So while summer may have flown by, there’s snow days and rainy days to plan for too. As well as all those holidays coming up– which Martha has covered with easy and clever kids craft activities and homemade gift ideas you’ll adore. Plus, there’s a plethora of childrens craft ideas coming your way on Making Lemonade this week, so stay tuned for more easy, simple, and totally do-able kids craft activities coming at you this week! Did you see a craft idea you loved? Tell me about it in the comments!
