Spotted: Polka Dotted Home Decor {Trend Watch!}

Are you seeing spots? Or more specifically, polka dots? A trend that’s been on the rise recently are preppy polka dots on everything from walls to ceilings to servingware to furniture. What’s fun about them is they can be symmetrical in rows and evenly sized, or a little wild with various sized dots randomly placed. I’ll admit I love the latter, while I know others like the former.
Recently I bought some polka dot sheets in hopes of turning them into curtains. When I took them out of the bag my daughter’s eyes got huge and she asked with the wide-eye look of wonder: “Mama, did you buy those for ME?!” How could I say no? They’re now on her bed. Of course. Curtains can wait. 🙂

From wild to restrained, all-over to a dabble here and there, here’s polka dots in all their glory trying to turn you into a believer and Polka Dot Dreamer.

The dots on this chair are a bit bigger, but with such a neutral room they add a playful touch. (via Centsational Girl)
