Countdown ‘Til Christmas: Printable Advent Activities

{Updated to add: the links below for the printable are through Scribd, a really great document sharing service.  It’s VERY quick to sign up and they don’t spam or anything, but I do understand if you’d rather not login that way.  Here’s a link for the printable through Google Drive, but it won’t be formatted all pretty like on Scribd.  Or, I can email it to you if that’s easiest– leave your email address in the comments or email me privately and I’ll make sure you get it.  XO!}

You guys.  I made my first printable!  It’s not fancy, but will hopefully be helpful if you need activity ideas for your advent calendar (like the photo advent calendar idea from earlier this week).

Simply download, print it out, cut it into strips, and you’re ready to go.  If you make the photo advent calendar, glue the activities to the back of the photos.

Or fold into small pieces to put into drawers, bags, pails, pockets… or whatever your advent calendar happens to be.  There’s 26 activities, just in case you don’t like one from the list you could throw one away.  If you live in a warm climate or we don’t get snow you may need to come up with one or two additional ideas (or repeat a few).  Adding in snow related ideas was a little too tempting, and perhaps a little too hopeful!

a snippet of the list:

To make the activity list, I thought which holiday traditions we love and the ideas starting rolling out.  Here’s a few of our favorite December traditions:

viewing Christmas lights

making cookies

sending gifts

raiding the “Mom I’m Bored” art jar and crafting gifts for friends

drinking hot chocolate (and giving friends their own hot cocoa kits)

watching our favorite holiday movies– Grinch, Charlie Brown, Rudolph, Elf…

making yummy treats (like these Oreo Snowball Truffles)

special treats hiding in stockings

… and so much more.

Simply click this link to download the advent activity list.  You can then print it out, and you’ll be ready to go in no time flat.

I hope you enjoy the activities and free printable!  What are your favorite Christmas traditions?
