But first, these stylish spaces have us dreaming about watching football, sipping hot apple cider, and snuggling under blankets (preferably doing all 3 at the same time.)

Fall Decor, Simplified
If you’ve been around here awhile, you know I love to keep things simple. Clutter makes me anxious, so I try to keep my home decor cozy without being cluttered. I’ve found the best way to do this is to create a seasonal ‘decor capsule’, kinda like a ‘capsule wardrobe’ concept but for home decor.
This way, I’m not adding MORE STUFF. I’m switching out what I have so it feels intentional and not like the Dollar Spot at Target exploded all over my house (not gonna lie, though– I do love browsing the Target Dollar Spot even though I rarely buy anything!)
For example, each season I switch out what’s in these vases and the throw blanket. This is part of my fall living room decor capsule:
It also allows me to streamline seasonal decorating by keeping everything from each season in their own storage bin. This makes decorating and undecorating super simple.
It boils down to investing in a few favorite decor pieces and switching out the florals or textiles seasonally. Here’s my favorite categories for a ‘seasonal decor capsule’:
- vases
- lanterns
- vintage crocks
- large bowls
- trays
- throw pillows
- throw blankets
- wreaths
- frames
- pedestals
- pitchers
- baskets
You’ll find many of these linked below, and I bet you’ll find that you can use many of them in the winter and summer too if you switch out what’s inside (for example, baskets, vases, and crocks.)
Another thing to keep in mind is your preferred fall color palette. I’m a sucker for a ‘mineral’ toned palette, which includes amethyst, navy blue, dark green, and citrine. I mix in metallic tones like black iron, copper and gold. But maybe you like bold colors, all neutrals, or what I call leaf peepers: the orange/yellow/deep reds of autumn in New England. Go with what you love and it’ll mix effortlessly into your normal home decor because that’s probably what you naturally gravitate towards in your daily home design.
Here you can see my color palette tends towards mineral toned hues so when I choose seasonal decor I try to mix it in with what I already have:

The best part about the following collection is everything is UNDER $30. Yes, you read that correctly! It’s affordable and budget-friendly! The only exception is this faux wheat wreath which I wanted to include because it’s currently on my front door, and these pillow cases which aren’t technically ‘fall’ themed but they look gorgeous during this season (and all seasons, to be truthful.)

What do you think? Did you find a few decor pieces you loved in that round-up? Are you already thinking of ways to reuse them in different seasons?
I love the capsule idea for decorating. It makes a lot of sense. I like your uncluttered style to greet each season. Subtle and relaxing, versus some of the garish items out there. LOL. But to each their own. Where did you get that lovely gold peacock figurine? Now, that’s something else I must have!!
Haha, I’m such a sucker for that little gold bird! I think I got it at Target a few years ago, he practically jumped into my cart. He’s my favorite fall decoration. 🙂
