Do you remember when Valentine’s Day at school was simple? You brought a little card, wrote your name on the back, and called it a day. No treats. No trinkets. No candy explosions.
These days? Valentine’s Day feels a lot more like Halloween.
My kids’ classmates show up with goodie bags stuffed with candy, tiny toys, and things that will absolutely get thrown away when they are not looking. I found a massive bag of Nerds Candy with Gummy Clusters, Chewy Nerds, and the original Nerds. Honestly, I’m a little jealous because I only remember the classic Nerds box, the one I never quite knew how to eat.
If you poured them into your hand, your palm turned rainbow colors. If you dumped them straight into your mouth, somehow the box ended up soggy and the Nerds stuck to the inside. Was that just me? Probably.
My daughter’s favorite is the Gummy Clusters, and I’m fairly certain the real reason she picked these for her Valentines is because she’s hoping to snag the leftovers. I have to give her credit though, it’s a solid strategy.
