What You’ll Need to Make Frosted Jars
The best part of this project? You probably already have the materials at home! Here’s what’s needed, with handy links in case you need to grab any supplies before you start.
- glass mason jars- we used 16 oz sized jars but these 64 oz jars would be gorgeous!
- paintbrush
- school glue
- Epson salt
- battery operated fairy lights
- velcro
- plastic container for holding salt
How to Make Frosted Fairy Light Jars Tutorial
Mason jar fairy lights are perfect for decorating in your home for big parties and holidays. They are fun to make and simple! Here’s how to make them step-by-step.
Frosted Fairy Light Jar Instructions:
Step One: Cover the jar with a thin layer of school glue using a craft foam brush.
Step Two: Roll the glue-covered jar in Epsom salt (or pour salt over the glue in an even layer).
Step Three: Let the outside of the jar dry.
Step Four: Add a piece of sticky back velcro to the inside top of the mason jar.
Step Five: Add the other side of the sticky back velcro to the fairy light battery holder. Be sure to add the velcro to the side without the on/off switch.
Step Six: Attach the battery light holder to the inside of the jar lid with the velcro and let the lights hang into the jar.
Step Seven: Close the jar lid, and add ribbon or twine with a sprig of greenery to the outside of the jar.
To use, simply open the jar and turn on the lights!
