If fall has you donning your boots, pulling on sweaters, and dreaming of chilly hayrides, then this cocktail recipe is for you. The base is an apple cider but it has the subtle flavor of pears and is sweetened with brown sugar and honey too. I should call it the ‘transition to fall’ cocktail, because with the blend of honey and pears doesn’t it sound like the perfect blend of summer and fall? So grab your favorite blanket and let’s hit the hayride!
Ingredients
2 oz. Vodka
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 Tablespoon honey
Apple cider to taste
Ice cubes
2 pears
Directions
Cut pears into wedges and put them in a short glass.
Add the brown sugar and honey.
Drop in a few ice cube.
Pour in the vodka.
Complete with the apple cider and stir.
Serve and enjoy.
Tip
Swap the vodka for more apple cider to make it alcohol-free.
You can also add in a sprig of herbs to make it pretty, or a cinnamon stick to further spice it up.
I can picture sipping this on weekends at football parties or nights by the firepit. And, of course, on hayrides. 😉 It’ll be a nice change from typical tailgating beverages and my go-to summer staple which is champagne, and a step-up from plain cider.
It’s fall, y’all! (I can legit say y’all now that I’m in the south again, right?!)
